After almost two years since the temporary halt to UC’s Global Learning Program, with a lot of uncertainty about what comes next, delayed or cancelled exchanges, and learning how to continue operations through a developing global pandemic, exchange programs are set to return to UC next year.
Resuming in Semester 2, 2022, students will be able to study their degree at one of UC’s 22 exchange partners. Students also have the option of studying for one semester, or, if they wish to have a longer exchange, then two semester options are available. Overseas exchanges have been a widely enjoyed experience by other students at UC prior to the program’s temporary halt, and have been labeled a once in a lifetime opportunity and a great way to experience living and studying in another country.
In order to be eligible for the exchange program there are criteria you must meet first, including being currently enrolled as a student at UC, having completed a full year/24 credit points worth of study, having a GPA of 4.5 or above and demonstrating the skills to manage a new and challenging academic and social environment.
Applications are due in by January 16th, 2022, for those hoping to go on exchange in semester 2 next year, and more information on where you can study, how to apply and what else is required of you can be found on MyUC.
UC’s Global Learning team are hopeful these exchanges will resume as planned but have noted that this is subject to change and will be in accordance with the travel restrictions and exceptions advice provided by the Australian government.
However, for those interested in Faculty-Led programs, independently organised overseas experiences, or independent short courses, at this time no decision has been made regarding the reintroduction of these programs. When the university moves to endorse these international experiences, more information will be made available.
The Global Learning team can be contacted via [email protected] and are available to answer any questions you have regarding student exchange.
