Editor – Peter Searles

Peter Searles is a UC student studying Creative Writing and majoring in Film Production. He was born in Canberra and is glad to be back here close to family and friends after living in London and Sydney for several years. Peter is passionate about writing. At UC he is developing his skills in storytelling across various mediums, something he always wanted to do but never found the time! Peter’s main interest is in prose fiction. Lately he has been enjoying short stories and trying to get better at writing them. Since commencing study, Peter has discovered a love of poetry and began exploring the art form. He is the co-host of Poetry on the Radio, a half hour program on ArtSound FM which promotes the work of Canberra’s vibrant community of poets. Peter is grateful for the opportunity to join the Curieux team and help share the diverse talents of UC students.
Editor – Ruby Thomas

Ruby Thomas is a UC student studying a Bachelor of Communication and Media in journalism. Since starting at UC, Ruby has been involved with UCFM 87.8, producing and presenting content about everything happening on campus. Joining Curieux as an editor, she hopes to engage students in all the events and research at UC.
Ruby is a generalist who loves to research and read about society and culture. Reading deep-dives into the topics of interest to students is one of her favourite parts of being an editor at Curieux.
In her spare time, Ruby likes to watch movies, read books and look at the news!
Designer – Maddy Piggott

Maddy is a designer with a passion for all things weird and wonderful. Her qualifications include both a Bachelor in Film Production and a Bachelor in Graphic Design. She is currently in her final year of a Master of Secondary Teaching, hoping to spend her future teaching design and film. Maddy spends her time outside of university bookbinding, journalling, playing TTRPG’s and binge-watching movies and TV (with a penchant for horror).
Maddy delights in sharing her creative pursuits and ideas with others and looks forward to helping contributors display their pieces.
