SRC Newsletter – September & October 2023 Edition
By Jannis Heinzmann (UCSRC Vice President)
Hello, and welcome to the September & October 2023 edition of the SRC Newsletter. We are thrilled to keep you updated on the latest developments within the University of Canberra Student Representative Council (UCSRC). Here's a summary of what's been happening:
Future Planning for the SRC:
Behind the scenes, we have been hard at work, planning for the future of the SRC. We are focused on ensuring that the incoming 2024 student body will have a well-defined roadmap for a successful year ahead. This includes careful budgeting and strategizing to provide the best possible support to UC students.
Trivia Night at UCX Bar:
We recently hosted an exciting game of trivia at the UCX Bar. It was a fun-filled evening that brought students together, providing an opportunity to unwind, test their knowledge, and enjoy some quality time with fellow peers.
VP's UCFM Appearance:
Our Vice-President made a special appearance on UCFM, where they discussed the vital role and responsibilities of the UCSRC (University of Canberra Student Representative Council). The conversation shed light on the impact of the UCSRC on the student community, emphasizing our commitment to advocating for your interests.
Invitation to the British High Commission:
The SRC had the honor of being invited to the British High Commission, where we engaged in meaningful discussions about various student matters. This interaction allowed us to represent the interests and concerns of UC students on a broader platform, fostering collaboration and understanding.
Promoting Upcoming SRC Elections at the Food Pantry:
We visited the food pantry to raise awareness about the upcoming elections for the SRC. Our team actively shared information, encouraged participation, and answered questions from students, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to get involved in shaping the future of the SRC.
Planning for the SRC Handover:
As the academic year progresses, we have been diligently planning for the SRC handover. This crucial transition ensures that the valuable work and commitment of the outgoing team seamlessly pass on to the next generation of student representatives. We aim to maintain continuity and uphold our mission of serving the student population at UC.
We encourage you to stay connected with the SRC by following our social media channels and keeping an eye out for updates in Curieux. Your engagement and involvement are essential in building a vibrant and inclusive UC community.
Should you have any questions, suggestions, or if you wish to get involved, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at UCSRC@canberra.edu.au. Your SRC is here to support you, advocate for your needs, and make your university experience the best it can be.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to meeting the new SRC!
All the best,
Jannis Heinzmann
